Craig Stadler

Craig Stadler is a long-time professional golfer, whom debuted professionally in 1976. Reflecting his appearance, Stadler has been nicknamed “The Walrus” throughout his years in the limelight and is proud of it nonetheless. He was born in 1953 in San Diego, California and took up golf at the young age of 4 with his father’s urging. He went on to attend the University of Southern California, where he was a four-time All-American and exercised his talents so well that he was able to turn professional just the year after graduating. As a professional golfer, Stadler is most known for his successes in the Champions Tour and the PGA Tour. He has a career total of 31 wins, 13 of them on the PGA Tour and 9 on the Champions Tour. In the early 2000’s, Stadler had his best years, as he was the leading money winner in his first full year in the Champions Tour. He fought through a hip replacement in 2010 and ultimately fought through the end, still competing at the age of 61 in 2014. In the 2014 Masters Tournament, which Stadler competed in with his son who has come to follow in his footsteps, he announced his retirement from the sport and is going out on a very honorable note.
