German Marquez Biography

German Marquez is a star pitcher for the Colorado Rockies who was an All-Star for the first time in 2021. That season, Marquez took a no-hitter into the ninth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He became a full-time starting pitcher for the first time for the Rockies in 2017. Marquez had a true breakout in 2018, posting a 14-11 record with a 3.77 ERA and 230 strikeouts. He also won a Silver Slugger Award as the best hitting pitcher in the National League. Marquez was originally signed as an international free agent by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2011 and was traded to Colorado in 2016 when he made his major league debut.
