About Geovany Soto
Geovany Soto came to the United States in 2001 to play baseball in the Chicago Cubs organization at the age of 18. Four years later he made his big league debut and then bounced back and forth between the bigs and the minors for the next three years before becoming a major league mainstay in 2008. That was a special year for Soto. After hitting .285 with 23 homeruns, 35 doubles and 86 RBI he was named the National League Rookie of the Year and also earned an All-Star selection.
