About Geoff Collins
Geoff Collins is the defensive coordinator at North Carolina and the former head football coach at Georgia Tech University. He got noticed by the Yellow Jackets' administration by guiding Temple to 7-6 and 8-4 records in his two years as head coach. Before arriving in Philadelphia, he spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator at the University of Florida. Collins was also in the Southeastern Conference as a defensive coordinator for four years at Mississippi State. He got his first opportunity to lead a defense on the Division 1 level in 2010 at Florida International University. Collins got his first coaching opportunity in the state under George O'Leary at the University of Central Florida. He had previously served under O'Leary as a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech from 1999-2001. Collins played college football at Western Carolina. He also had a coaching stint there from 2002-2005.
