About Gary Roberts
Gary Roberts is a former professional left wing of the NFL. For his junior hockey career, Roberts was drafted into the Ontario Hockey League. Roberts ended his junior career as a two-time Memorial Cup champion. The Calgary Flames selected Roberts in the 1st round as the 12th overall pick in the 1984 NHL Draft. In his first season as a professional, Roberts played for the Calgary and Moncton. On March 30, 1990, Roberts scored his first career hat trick. During the 1992-93 season, Roberts tied a Flames franchise record with goals in eight consecutive games. Roberts has also played for the Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. When he is not playing hockey, Roberts hosts and annual charity golf tournament in Ontario to support the Canadian Tires jumpstart program. Roberts is also an honored member of the Whitby Sports Hall of Fame, inducted in 2010.
