Gary McCord is a professional golfer, commentator and author. McCord attended UC Riverside where he was a two-time Division II All-American and NCAA Division II individual champion in 1970. McCord turned professional in 1971. He has played on both the Champions Tour and the PGA Tour. McCord has played in 400 PGA Tour events, but he has never won. His two best finishes have both been second place. McCord does hold 3 professional wins; 1 from the Web.com Tour and 2 from the Champions Tour. In 1986, McCord joined CBS Sports as a golf analyst, a position that he still holds. McCord has covered virtually every golf event aired by CBS except for the Masters, as his first Masters coverage did not go so well. He has not been the first CBS commentator to be banned form the Masers. Aside from his playing and commentating, McCord has written tow books: Just a Range Ball in a Box of Titleists and Golf for Dummies.
