About Frank Nobilo
Frank Nobilo is a former professional golfer from New Zealand. At St. Peter’s college, Nobilo was persuaded by friends to play golf. In 1978, Nobilo won the New Zealand Amateur Championship and at 18, he was the second youngest winner of the title. In 1979, he decided to go professional. Nobilo received his first professional win in 1982 at the New South Wales PGA Championship. In 1985, he joined the European Tour as a full-time player and he recorded his first win on the Tour in the 1988 PLM Open. At the end of 1996, Nobilo left Europe and joined the United States PGA Tour. In 1998, he was struck by an errant tee shot above his left eye at the lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Florida. The injury required 30 stitches and his play was affected afterward. In 2003, Nobilo retired from golf and joined the Golf Channel, where he is an analyst and commentator for the PGA and Champions Tour Coverage.
