About Amy Alcott
World Golf Hall of Famer Amy Alcott had a dominant career right from the start on the LPGA Tour. Her first victory came just three starts in on the way to winning 1975 LPGA Rookie of the Year honors. Alcott went on to win 29 times on tour and is also a five-time major winner. After her major victory at the 1988 Dinah Shore Invitational, she began the annual tradition of jumping into a greenside lake on the 18th hole. Alcott won four tournaments in three separate seasons and had he LPGA’s lowest scoring average in 1980. Her realm of influence has extended into golf course design after her playing career ended. Alcott is on the team designing a course in Rio de Janeiro in preparation for golf’s 2016 re-entry to the Olympics. In addition to receiving golf’s greatest honor, she is also a member of the National Jewish Museum Sports Hall of Fame.
