Eric Cantona Biography

Eric Cantona is a legend for his work on the pitch with Manchester United in the 1990s. Cantona played for several clubs in his home country, France, and in the UK before arriving at Man U in 1992. Over five seasons, he scored 64 goals in 143 appearances. Cantona led the club to four Premier League championships. At the conclusion of his first season, he finished third for the prestigious Ballon d'Or. Cantona was also named the Premier League Overseas Player of the Decade. On the international stage, he is a former captain for the French national team, having scored 20 goals in 45 appearances. Cantona is a member of the Premier League Hall of Fame and the English Football Hall of Fame. In 2004, Pele named him to the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. Since retiring from the sport at the relatively young age of 30, Cantona has pursued a career as an actor.
