About Ed Palubinskas
Ed Palubinskas is a former basketball player and NBA shooting coach from Australia. Palubinskas came to America to play college ball where he set NCAA records for most consecutive free throws in a single game (14) and in a season (43). Palubinskas led the nation in free throw percentage in 1970 and in 1972 he transferred to Louisiana State University where he averaged 18.6 ppg. Palubinskas was selected for the Australian Olympic team in 1972 and again in 1976 where he set three Olympic scoring records including most points scored in a single Olympics with 269 and in 1990 was voted the best basketball player in Australian history. After his playing days, Palubinskas became a shooting coach for many NBA players, most notably Shaquille ONeal when he helped improve Shaqs free throw percentage from 38.3% to 69.4%. Palubinskas has multiple Guinness World Records including most free throws made in one hour (1,206) and most free throws made in 2 minutes with a blindfold (8).
