About Derek Kellogg
Derek Kellogg is a UMass man. The Springfield, Massachusetts native played for the Minutemen and has been the head men’s basketball coach at the school since 2008. Kellogg has recorded three 20-win seasons at UMass and taken the school to the NCAA Tournament once. He has assistant coaching stints at George Mason, Youngstown State, and most notably Memphis under John Calipari. As a player, Kellogg was one of the all-time great Minutemen. He captained the squad as a junior and senior. Each season he was there the team won the Atlantic-10 regular and postseason championships. UMass went 111-24 with Kellogg at point and Calipari on the bench in that span.
