About Al Farouq Aminu
Al-Farouq Aminu has spent his NBA career with the Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers. The Clippers selected Aminu eighth overall in the 2010 NBA Draft. While he was born in Atlanta, Aminu is of Nigerian descent that competes for their national team. He played two college seasons at Wake Forest and was a member of the ACC’s All-Freshman team in 2009. During his sophomore season, Aminu 15.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. At Norcross High School, he was a McDonald’s All-American and won back-to-back state titles. His older brother Alade also plays on the Nigerian National Team. The brothers represented their country of origin during the 2012 Olympics in London. Aminu gives back through work with the McDonald’s All-Americans and the Jordan Brand Classic.
