About Derek Holland
Derek Holland is famous for two things, his pitching performances on the mound in the major leagues and his fun loving personality in the clubhouse. Nicknamed the “Dutch Oven”, Derek Holland’s meteoric rise through the Texas Rangers minor league system from 2006 to 2009 was highly publicized and he didn’t disappoint when he made his major league debut in 2009, posting a strong year as a rookie and becoming a front line starter the following year. In 2010 and 2011 he was a key contributor on the mound for the Rangers’ World Series teams, posting a 16-5 record with a 3.95 ERA in 32 starts in 2011.
He backed that up with a huge year in 2013, posting a 3.42 ERA in a career high 33 starts and 213 innings pitched. Off the field, Derek Holland is one of the top jokers in baseball.
