About Derek Anderson
Derek Anderson played 12 seasons in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats from 1997 to 2008. Prior to joining the Cleveland Cavaliers as a first round pick in 1997 he starred at Doss High School in Louisville, Kentucky and played collegiately at Ohio State University from 1992 to 1994 and at the University of Kentucky from 1995 to 1997. While playing at the University of Kentucky he helped the Wildcats to an NCAA National Championship in 1996. After earning his degree in pharmacy in 1997 he headed to the NBA and began a long and successful pro career. During his first season with the Cavaliers he earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors and would go on to help the Houston Rockets to an NBA Championship in 2006. Anderson retired in 2008 with 7,357 points, 1,988 rebounds and 2,083 assists.
