About Dennis Allen
Dennis Allen has coached football at the college and professional levels for nearly two decades. He got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant at Texas A&M University in 1996.
After four seasons with the with Aggies, he was hired as the secondary coach at the University of Tulsa where he served as an assistant for one year before being hired as a defensive assistant and quality control coach with the Atlanta Falcons. In 2006 the New Orleans Saints hired Allen to coach their defensive line and then tapped him to coach their secondary from 2008 to 2010.
In 2011 he served as the Defensive Coordinator for the Denver Broncos before landing his first head-coaching gig with the Oakland Raiders in 2012. After three seasons in Oakland, Allen returned to New Orleans as the defensive coordinator before being named head coach in 2022.
Following parts of three seasons leading the Saints, Allen became the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.
