About DeAndre Ayton
DeAndre Ayton is a standout center for the Los Angeles Lakers. Ayton averaged 14.4 points and 10.5 rebounds during the 2020-21 season and helped the Phoenix Suns reach the NBA Finals. He was consistently reliable for Phoenix since being drafted number one overall in 2018 and landing on the All-NBA First Team in 2019.
Ayton landed in the same state for his NBA career after starring at the University of Arizona for one season. He was named a consensus All-American and the Pac-12 Player of the Year. Ayton averaged 20.1 points, 11.6 rebounds and1.9 blocks per game. Ayton set Wildcats freshman records for points, rebounds and blocks in a season. He helped Arizona win the Pac-12 Tournament and was named tournament MVP.
Ayton is a native of the Bahamas who came to the United States to play high school basketball. He was a consensus five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American out of Hillcrest Prep Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.
