About Darren Young
Darren Young was born Frederick Douglas Rosser III in Union Township, New Jersey. Growing up he was a fan of professional wrestling in the 1980’s and idolized many of the popular wrestlers of the day. As a teenager he began his wrestling career in several backyard-wrestling federals and also gained notoriety on the football field while playing for Union High School. After a stellar prep career he played one year of college football at Fairleigh Dickinson University before deciding to focus solely on his academics and a career in wrestling. From 2002 to 2004 he trained to be a pro wrestler and ended up landing his first pro contract with the WWE in 2005. Since that time he has been one of the most popular wrestlers on the circuit, making appearances on Smackdown and Raw over the last decade. During his decorated wrestling career he has earned numerous awards including being voted the most PWI Most Hated Wrestler of the Year in 2010 and PWI Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year in 2013.
