Danny Willett Biography

2016 Masters winner, Danny Willett is one of the top young golfers to come out of England in recent years.  In 2016, he fired a final round 67 to win the Masters.  He plays primarily on the European Tour, but has had success stateside as well.  Willett has four victories on the European Tour.  Greater success was foreshadowed when he posted a strong showing at The Open Championship in 2015.  Willett had his best finish in a major to that point with a tie for sixth.  He originally turned pro in 2008 and won his European Tour card the following year.  In 2010, he cracked the top 100 on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time.  At the BMW International Open in 2012, Willett picked up his first European Tour victory.  While he grew up in England, he also played two seasons collegiately in the U.S. at Jacksonville State.  Willett became the top-ranked amateur in the world in March 2008.
