Curtis Martin

Curtis Martin, who had a decade-lasting professional football career, represented number 28 as a running back in the NFL. Martin debuted professionally with the New England Patriots but played the majority of his career with the New York Jets. His story originated in Pennsylvania in 1973 where he was born t o a troubled household under which his father left them for drugs and alcohol and his grandmother was murdered in their unsafe neighborhood. Although he did not have much else going for him throughout his childhood years, Martin certainly had raw talent for the sport of football that did not go unnoticed. He went on to attend and play at the University of Pittsburgh and when give the choice to redshirt for one more season or enter the NFL Draft in 1995, he chose the NFL. Throughout his professional career that lasted until 2005, Martin won an exuberant amount of awards and set numerous records, including being the oldest player to win a rushing title in NFL history. He rushed over 14,000 yards and was inducted into the Pro Hall of Fame. Due to his own experience, Martin also established a foundation known as the Curtis Martin Job Foundation, which was designed to aid household’s like his own while growing up with single mothers and other financially strained households.
