About Charles Johnson
Charles Johnson was one of the early stars for the expansion Florida Marlins. The Marlins selected Johnson out of the University of Miami in the first round fo the 1992 MLB Draft. He had two stints with Florida from 1994-1998 and 2001-2002. During his run in Miami, he won four straight Gold Gloves from 1995-1998. In 1997, Johnson was particularly dominant. He made his first All-Star team and went 123 games at catcher without an error. In the 1997 World Series, Johnson hit .357 with a team-leading ten hits as the Marlins triumphed in seven games. He also caught three no-hitters in his time with Florida. Johnson played for five other big league teams in his career. He is 16th all-time among major league catchers in fielding percentage.
