About Carlos Martinez
Carlos Martinez is an All-Star pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals originally signed Martinez in 2010 and he quickly became one of the top 100 prospects in baseball. Martinez was also a participant in the 2011 MLB All-Star Futures Game. He made his major league debut in 2013 and helped the Cardinals reach the World Series. After two seasons as a spot starter and primary reliever, Martinez became a regular part of St. Louis' rotation in 2015. That year, he became an All-Star and finished with a 14-7 record, 3.01 ERA and 184 strikeouts in 179.2 innings. The next season, Martinez went 16-9 with a 3.04 ERA. He got out to a fantastic start in 2017, recording a 2.88 ERA over the first half to earn his second All-Star appearance.
