C.J. Cron Biography

C.J. Cron is a star first baseman for the Los Angeles Angels. Cron has flashed his tremendous power at the plate since originally being called up by the Angels in 2014. At Utah, he led the country in OPS and slugging percentage before the Angels selected him in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft. Cron spent his first four seasons in Los Angeles before being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. He had his first 30-home-run season with the Rays in 2018 before playing the next two seasons with the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers. Cron had his best season with the Colorado Rockies in 2021, hitting .281 with 28 home runs and 92 RBI. His success could have been predicted by his tremendous bloodline in the sport. Cron's father and cousin also played in the majors.
