About Bob Ley
Bob Ley has won multiple Sports Emmy Awards for his excellence in sports broadcast journalism while working for the Worldwide Leader in Sports, ESPN. Ley is the longest tenured on-air employee at ESPN, having been hired on at ESPN just three days after its initial launch in 1979. Ley was born and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and got his start in broadcasting as a sportscaster and program director at Seton Hall University. After earning his degree in communications he became an intern and production staffer in New York City and went on to serve as a sportscaster at several stations around the country before being recognized by ESPN as one of the best in the business. During Ley’s legendary career he has served as the host for ESPN’s hit show Outside the Lines and also served as a headline host on their flagship program, SportsCenter. He has also covered a multitude of sports, including international soccer, major league baseball, and the NFL and NBA.
