About Bas Rutten
Bas Rutten was one of the early stars of mixed martial arts. Rutten finished 28-4-1 in his pro MMA career. He was originally known as a prodigious kickboxer before diversifying his craft. Rutten first starred in Japan, becoming a three-time King of Pancrase champion. He joined the UFC in 1998 and became UFC Heavyweight Champion in 1999. Rutten finished his career on a remarkable 22-match unbeaten streak. Following his career, the charisma that he displayed in the Octagon carried over to the world of entertainment. He got several small acting roles and became a popular commentator for the sport. In 2015, Rutten was inducted in the UFC Hall of Fame.
