About Austin Barnes
Austin Barnes is a catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Barnes is a Riverside, California native who played college baseball at Arizona State University. The Florida Marlins selected him in the eighth round of the 2011 MLB Draft. Barnes was traded to the Dodgers organization in 2014. He made his major league debut early in the 2015 season. That year, Barnes was named a mid-season and post-season Pacific Coast League All-Star. He was also on Baseball America's Triple-A All-Star Team. Barnes again played sparingly at the big league level in 2016 before becoming Los Angeles' primary backup catcher in 2017. He helped the Dodgers reach the World Series that season.
