About Antonio McDyess
Antonio McDyess had a long and prosperous NBA career, playing 16 seasons for the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, and San Antonio Spurs. He was an All-Star in 2001 and won gold at the 2000 Olympics with Team USA. McDyess averaged 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in his first six seasons, but a knee injury during the 2001-02 season would rob him of much of explosiveness for the rest of his career. He would still bounce back and prove to be a reliable bench contributor and occasional starter going forward. This sparkplug role assisted the Detroit Pistons run to the NBA Finals in 2005. Overall, McDyess went to the playoffs eight times. He was the second overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft out of Alabama. He took the Crimson Tide to the NCAA Tournament twice in his three seasons.
