Annie Duke

Annie Duke is one of the most successful poker players of all-time and has parlayed that into a successful career in the public eye. Duke won the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions in 2004 and at one time was the all-time leading money winner among women on the WSOP. She has earned over one million dollars at WSOP events and over four million in live tournaments. Her autobiography is called “Annie Duke: How I Raised, Folded, Bluffed, Flirted, Cursed, and Won Millions at the World Series of Poker”. Duke co-founded the Ante Up for Africa charity, which organizes poker tournaments with the proceeds benefiting African charities. She was a runner-up on Celebrity Apprentice and raised over 700,000 dollars for charity. NBC created a pilot based on her life called “All In”, which she consulted on. She also had a show on the Game Show Network called “Annie Duke Takes on the World” where she would play amateurs in poker. Duke has been an advocate for online gaming, testifying in front of Congress twice. She leads the fight for women’s equality in the poker world. Duke was originally encouraged by her brother to play poker professionally.
