Liv Boeree

Liv Boeree is a multitalented model, television presenter and poker player from England. Boeree was born in Kent, England and went on to study physics and astrophysics at the University of Manchester after graduating from Ashford High School. At age 21 she moved to London to begin playing poker, and was selected as one of five contestants on the hit show Ultimatepoker.com Showdown. After the show she began playing at Gutshot Club in London and was then asked to serve as a reporter for Gutshot TV at the World Series of Poker in Los Vegas. Since that time she has become a World Series of Poker legend, finishing in the money 12-times. In2010 she won the European Poker Tour main event in Sanremo and has since posted eight cashes in the main-event. To date, she has accumulated over $2.5 million in earnings during her poker career. On television she has served as a host on Discovery Channel’s Mind Control Freaks and was a member of the Celebrity Graduate Manchester University team that took part in the BBC2 Celebrity Christmas University Challenge in 2011. In 2014 she co-founded Raising for Effective Giving, which encourages poker players to pledge to donate 2% of their winnings to highly effective charities.
