About Andre Thornton
Andre Thornton is one of the great Cleveland Indians players of the 1980s. Thornton had a 14-year major league career, originally debuting with the Chicago Cubs in 1973. He played four seasons in Chicago before joining the Montreal Expos for one years. However, Thornton would fully hit his stride with the Indians, getting selected to All-Star teams in 1982 and 1984. He also won a Silver Slugger Award in 1984. Thornton had three 30-home run seasons during his career and retired following the 1987 campaign. He was inducted into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame in 2007.
