Zinedine Zidane is one of the greatest soccer players of all time.In 2004, the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll named Zidane the best European player of the last 50 years.He is a three-time FIFA World Player of the Year and one-time winner of the Ballon d’Or.With both Real Madrid and Juventus, he achieved ultimate team success.Zidane won the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup with each club, a La Liga and UEFA Champions League crown with Real Madrid, and two Serie A titles with Juventus. In France, he is a national hero for his two goals in a winning effort in the final of the 1998 World Cup. Zidane received the highest honor that can be given by his country, the Legion d’honneur.He actually started his pro career in France with Cannes and Bordeaux.Zidane also led the French to the World Cup final and won the Golden Ball in his final act as a competitive player in 2006. In retirement, Zidane has also spent time with Real Madrid as an advisor, assistant coach, and head coach.
