About Will Middlebrooks
Will Middlebrooks is a third baseman with the Boston Red Sox and won a World Series with the club in 2013. Middlebrooks had a memorable big league debut, batting .326 with nine home runs and 34 RBI in his first 41 games in 2012. His stellar play as a rookie prompted the Red Sox to trade Kevin Youkilis. Injuries and inconsistent play have hampered Middlebrooks since, but he did see action in the 2013 World Series. Throughout the minors, he was always a highly regarded prospect. Baseball America ranked Middlebrooks as the Red Sox best prospect going into the 2012 season. He was drafted out of Liberty-Eylau High School in the fifth round of the 2007 MLB Draft. A 925,000 signing bonus convinced Middlebrooks to bypass a college career at Texas A&M and head to the minors. His fiancé, Jenny Dell, is a sports reporter for CBS.
