Wally Dallenbach Sr.

Wally Dallenbach Sr. was an Indy Car driver from 1965-1979. Dallenbach won five times and had three top five finishes in 13 runs at the Indy 500. His wins were the 1973 Milwaukee 200, the 1973 Ontario 100, the 1973 Ontario 500, the 1975 Ontario 100, and the 1977 Trentonian 200. In his post-driving career, he became an influential executive for the now defunct racing series, CART. Dallenbach started as their competition director in 1980 and went on to serve as Chief Steward from 1981-2004. He is a member of multiple Halls of Fame, most notably the American Motorcyclist Association Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Dallenbach currently is the president of the Colorado 500 motorcycle race, an event he founded. His son, Wally Jr., was a NASCAR driver and broadcaster. He now has several grandchildren that have found success in some area of the racing business.
