Tyus Jones

Tyus Jones is a point guard for the Dallas Mavericks. Jones was a reliable bench contributor throughout his first eight seasons in the NBA, splitting time equally between the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves. He was acquired by the Wolves after a draft-night trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014.

The Cavs selected him 24th overall out of Duke University, where he was the floor general for the National Champion Blue Devils during his freshman season. Jones led Duke in the title game, scoring 23 points against Wisconsin en route to winning the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. Throughout his one season in Durham, Jones steadily improved. He averaged 11.8 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game while starting 33 contests during the regular season. That led to third-team All-ACC and honorable mention All-American honors.

Jones grew up in Minnesota, where he starred at Apple Valley High School and made a name for himself in national recruiting circles. He was a consensus five-star recruit, Mr. Basketball in the state, and a three-time Minnesota AP Player of the Year.
