About Trey Mancini
Trey Mancini is a star for the Chicago Cubs who originally made a major league impact as a fan favorite with the Baltimore Orioles. Mancini first joined the Orioles in 2016. He had originally been selected by the franchise in the eighth round of the 2013 MLB Draft after playing college baseball at Notre Dame. In his first full big league season, Mancini hit .293 with 24 home runs and 78 RBI, good enough to finish third in 2017 American League Rookie of the Year voting. He was even better two years later, hitting .291 with 31 home runs and 97 RBI. Unfortunately, that following Spring Training it was revealed that Mancini had stage 3 colon cancer. He was able to battle back, missing the entire 2020 season but returning to hit over 20 home runs in 2021 on the way to winning American League Comeback Player of the Year honors. Mancini was traded to the Astros in 2022 and helped them win the World Series. He signed as a free agent with the Cubs that following offseason.
