About Trevor Rosenthal
Trevor Rosenthal is a relief pitcher for the Oakland Athletics. He originally came up with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012 and quickly became one of the best closers in baseball. In his first two trips to the postseason, Rosenthal went 20.1 scoreless innings and struck out 33 of the 70 batters he faced. Rosenthal was particularly sharp throughout the 2014 season, saving 45 games with a 3.20 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 70.1 innings. That was his first season as the Cardinals closer after two years where he mostly worked in middle relief. St. Louis originally selected him out of Cowley County Community College in the 21st round of the 2009 MLB Draft. There, Rosenthal slowly converted from shortstop to the mound. He is open with his Christian faith and lists 1 Phillippians 4:13 on his official Twitter bio.
