Travis Wood Biography

Travis Wood has been a pitcher with the Chicago Cubs since 2012.  He served as a starter before moving to the bullpen during the 2015 season.  Wood was one of the top pitchers in baseball in 2013.  He started the season off with nine straight quality starts on the way to an All-Star berth.  He was an essential cog in keying the Cubs rise to contenders.  In 2016, he posted a 4-0 record with a 2.95 ERA in 77 appearances.  Wood also became only the second reliever to ever hit a postseason home run when he went deep in Game 2 of the National League Division Series.  He came up to the big leagues with the Cincinnati Reds in 2010 and spent two years with the club.
