Tony Casillas Biography

Prior to his success on the field in the National Football League, Tony Casillas’ football career included success in college. He went to the University of Oklahoma where he was an instrumental piece in the team's results. Tommy made such a big difference on the field for his team that he was named the UPI National Lineman of the Year, a two time First-team All-American, and the recipient of the Lombardi Award. That was all thanks in part to Casillas leading his team to the 1985 National Championship. The next step in his career was to make the transition to the NFL, and Tony became the 2nd overall selection in the 1986 NFL Draft. In his 166 game career he became a second-team All-Pro selection in 1989 and aided in securing two Super Bowl Championship for the Dallas Cowboys. Since his retirement Tony has been honored as an inductee into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame as well as the College Football Hall of Fame.
