About Tom Osborne
Tom Osborne led the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers football team to three national championships, 13 conference championships, and 13 overall bowl wins during his 25 years as head coach from 1973 to 1997. His coaching achievements are so highly regarded that the National Football Foundation waived it's three-year waiting period so that he could be inducted into its Hall of Fame in December of 1998. After retiring from football in 1997 he pursued a career in politics and served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Nebraska's 3rd congressional district from 2000 to 2006. In 2007 he returned to his roots to become the athletic director at the University of Nebraska. Osborne is one of the most successful coaches and administrators in the history of college football and respected not only for his work on the field and in the classroom, but also for his commitment to excellence and dedication to his country.
