About Sonny Lubick
Sonny Lubick is a former head coach at Colorado State University. Lubick’s coaching career began in 1970 when he received a job as the assistant coach at Montana State University. He spent eight seasons as the assistant coach before he was promoted to Montana State’s head football coach in 1978. Lubick was fired from Montana State after the 1981 season. Colorado State University hired Lubick in 1982, which at the time was one of the worst programs. Lubick served as an offensive coordinator at Colorado State. His next stop was at Stanford as an assistant coach. Lubick served as the assistant coach from 1985-88. In 1989, Lubick joined the University of Miami as the Hurricanes’ defensive coordinator. During his time in Miami, Lubick helped the Hurricanes win two national championships. Lubick returned to Colorado State in 1993 and he remained there until 2007. After his coaching career ended in 2007, Lubick worked with several restaurants in Fort Collins and he opened his own restaurant.
