About Todd Hamilton
Todd Hamilton played his collegiate golf at the University of Oklahoma before turning pro in 1987. Upon turning pro he made an interesting move and joined the Japan Golf Tour, which turned out to be quite lucrative. Over the course of his career on the Japan Golf Tour he became the tour’s all-time leading non-Japanese winner, bringing home a sweet $6.18 million in winnings. At age 38 Hamilton earned his PGA Tour card and won his first event the following year, capturing the 2004 Honda Classic. That would not be the biggest win of that year however, as he would go on to capture The Open Championship title in 2004. As a major champion he became one of the most consistent and respected players on tour for the next nine years, and has several top 40 finishes at major tournaments to his credit. Currently Hamilton competes on the Web.com Tour and has won a total of 17 professional tournaments at home and abroad.
