Todd Bowles

Todd Bowles is the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bowles was promoted to the top job after three successful seasons as the Bucs defensive coordinator. That run included a win in Super Bowl LV where his defense got a significant amount of credit for stopping the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes.

Bowles was previously head coach of the New York Jets for four seasons, including a 10-6 debut campaign in 2015. Prior to his first full-time head coaching job, he had already built a great reputation as a defensive mind over the previous two seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. With the surprising success of the Cardinals in 2014, he won the inaugural AP Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Bowles entered the NFL coaching ranks presiding over the Jets’ secondary. He had stops with the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys before a four-year run with the Miami Dolphins. There, he became the interim head coach after the firing of Tony Sparano and led the franchise to a 2-1 record. Bowles got his coaching start as a defensive coordinator at Morehouse College and Grambling State. Upon retirement from the NFL, he worked in the Green Bay Packers player personnel department for two seasons. Bowles played eight seasons at safety in the NFL, mostly for the Washington Redskins. He won Super Bowl XXII as a starter with the franchise.
