About Taylor Rooks
Taylor Rooks is an American sports journalist and broadcaster known for her insightful interviews and dynamic presence on TNT Sports and the Bleacher Report. Raised in Gwinnett County, Georgia, she earned a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014. Sports run deep in her bloodline. Her father, Thomas Rooks, was a top rusher for the Illinois Fighting Illini; her uncle Lou Brock, a St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer; and her uncle Marv Woodson, an NFL player.
Rooks began her career at Scout.com (2012–2014), covering football and basketball recruiting and breaking stories on players like Jalen Brunson and Jayson Tatum. She joined the Big Ten Network in 2014, hosting BTN Live and Women's Sports Report, and was a sideline reporter for CBS Sports Network (2016–2017). At SportsNet New York (2016–2018), she hosted “Timeout with Taylor Rooks." Currently, she's a prominent figure at Bleacher Report and Turner Sports, hosting “Take It There with Taylor Rooks," where she interviews NBA stars in a candid and untraditional format. She’s also a feature reporter for Amazon’s Thursday Night Football and will lead NBA on Prime Video’s studio coverage starting in 2025–26.
