About Marv Albert
Often referred to as the voice of basketball, Marv Albert is a sportscaster. Marv started out as a ball boy for the New York Knicks before he got his first big break and began working on Knicks radio broadcasts. Since then Albert spent 37 years with the Knicks on the radio and television earning him the voice of the New York Knicks moniker. Marv then moved on to work for NBC where he became the lead play by play announcer for the NBA on NBC, calling all but three of the NBA Finals between 1990 to 2002. Marv then moved to the role where he has become most well known as the lead announcer for the NBA on TNT. Aside from basketball, Marv has made a well-rounded career in sportscasting by calling six Super Bowls, two World Series, and seven Stanley Cup Finals. For his contributions to the sport he has been inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame.
