Tamyra Stock-Mensah had a historic Olympic win. Stock-Mensah became just the second American woman to win gold in wrestling when she placed first in the freestyle competition at the Tokyo Games. She came into the Olympics as the reigning World Champion. Stock-Mensah also had a bronze medal showing at the 2018 Worlds. She had tried to qualify for the 2016 Olympics, but even though she placed first in the U.S. Olympic Trials, she was not eligible for the Games.
