About Stephen Strasburg
There have not been many players as closely followed in recent baseball memory than Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg has passed the test with flying colors, earning an All-Star invite in 2012 and leading National League pitchers in strikeouts in 2014. That 2012 return season from Tommy John saw him go 15-6 with a 3.16 ERA and 197 strikeouts in 159.1 innings. Unfortunately, he was shut down in September as a precaution and did not get to pitch for the Nationals in the playoffs. Strasburg was dominant from the start, going seven innings in his 2010 major league debut and striking out 14. Washington drafted him first overall in the 2009 MLB Draft out of San Diego State. He quickly rose to be the top pitching prospect in baseball according to Baseball America.
