About Starlin Castro
Starlin Castro is a middle infielder for the Washington Nationals. During his minor league career, Castro was named to the Florida State League All-Star team, won MVP honors, and was named All-Star Futures Game for the World Team. On May 7, 2010, Castro was called up to the Majors to play for the Chicago Cubs. In his first Major League at bat, Castro hit a three-run home run off of Homer Bailey. He had many first year successes, including being named the shortstop on Baseball America’s 2010 All-Rookie Team, being named the shortstop on the 2010 Topps Major League Rookie All-Star Team and tying 5th in the Rookie of the Year voting. The following season, Castro became the youngest player to lead the National League in hits and made his first of four All-Star appearances.
Castro's last All-Star berth was in 2017 while he was with the New York Yankees. He went on to spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons with the Miami Marlins before joining the Nationals in 2020.
