About Stan Humphries
Stan Humphries is a former professional quarterback for the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers of the NFL. Humphries attended Northeast Louisiana University where he was the quarterback on the team that won the 1987 I-AA National Championship. Humphries spent two seasons at Northeast Louisiana before declaring for the Draft. The Washington Redskins selected Humphries in the 6th round as the 159th overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. Humphries made his first professional start in 1990 against the Cardinals. Humphries was traded to the San Diego Chargers prior to the start of the 1992 season. While with the Chargers, Humphries started for six years. During his playing career, Humphries was an AFC champion and tied the NFL record for longest pass play from scrimmage. In 2002, Humphries was inducted into the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame. Humphries currently serves as the athletic director and women’s basketball coach for St. Mary’s High School.
