About Sergio Romo
Sergio Romo joined the San Francisco Giants organization in 2005 as a 28th round pick in the MLB Draft. After three years in the minor leagues he established himself as a top relief pitcher that could come in and shut down innings in tight situations. He made his MLB debut with the Giants in 2008 and later became a veteran leader in the bullpen, helping his team to three World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. In 2012 he was named the This Year in Baseball Setup Man of the Year after boasting a 1.79 ERA in 65 appearances and earned his first All-Star appearance in 2013 as the Giants main closer. After the 2014 season Romo signed a two-year deal with the Giants worth $15 million over the length of the contract. He stayed with San Francisco before joining the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017. Romo has gone on to pitch for the Tampa Bay Rays, Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins.
