About Scott Weltz
Scott Welz is a native of sunny San Jose, California and grew up in the water. During his prep days he was a member of the Los Paseos Aquatics Club and attended Bellarmine College Preparatory before heading off to swim at the University of California, Davis. In 2012 the 25 year old won the 200-meter breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Time Trials in Omaha, Nebraska and finished fourth in the 100-meter breaststroke. He’d go on to finish fifth in the 200-meter final at the 2012 London Olympic games and make a name for himself as one of the top competitors in the world in the breaststroke discipline. Currently Welz is training for the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games and trains at Marin Pairates aquatics where he puts in long training days with the goal of finishing in the medals next time around.
