About Jessica Hardy
Jessica Hardy is one of the most decorated swimmers in United States history. Having been born in sunny Orange, California, being in the water was only natural to the young Hardy. After earning Swimming World’s Female High School Swimmer of the Year award in 2004 and 2005 while attending Wilson Classical High School she signed a scholarship to swim at the University of California, Berkley. While competing for the Golden Bears she won four NCAA Championships in two years before turning pro in 2007. Her international medal count is astonishing. From 2005 to 2014 she earned six gold medals and a silver medal at the Pan Pacific Championships, four gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the Short Course World Championships, three gold medals, five silver medals and two bronze medals in the long course World Championships and a Gold Medal and bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games. In all she earned 28 medals in international competition in the 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter breaststroke, 4x100- meter freestyle, 4x100-meter medley, and 100-meter breaststroke, which marked her place in history as one of the greatest international swimmers ever.
